Voting has ended for the first ever Missoula County Pet Commissioner! Congratulations to Gidge the Tripawd - Missoula County's first-ever pet commissioner!

The contest ran from Aug.1-31, with submissions open from Monday, Aug. 1, to Saturday, Aug. 20, and voting took place from Sunday, Aug. 21, to Wednesday, Aug. 31. The winning pet received a $25 gift card to Murdoch’s Ranch and Home Supply and was recognized with an official proclamation during a commissioners’ public meeting on Oct. 6.

Contest Guidelines

Eligibility: All Missoula County community members were eligible to submit entries of any pet species and vote for pet commissioner by liking submissions. Entries had to be submitted by 11:59 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, and votes had to be submitted by 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31.

Voting: To participate in the Missoula County Pet Commissioner contest, you had to register on Missoula County Voice, click the submission you wanted to vote for and hit the heart button in the bottom left corner to like the photo. You were welcome to leave a comment as well. (Note: Only likes will counted the number of votes for each entry). Voting opened Sunday, Aug. 21 and closed Wednesday, Aug. 31.

Judging Process/Criteria: Staff from Missoula County reviewed all submitted entries and determined the submission with the most votes/likes as the winner, which was Gidge the Tripawd.

Finalist Notification: Missoula County has reached out to the winning pet's owner and proclamation plans are in progress!
