Reconstruction of the Holland Wastewater Treatment System
The Forest Service is presenting a plan to replace the wastewater lagoon near Holland Lake in Swan Valley. A public meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 9 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Swan Valley Community Hall. Residents are welcome to join in-person or virtually.
The Forest Service is also seeking public feedback on the reconstruction of the Holland Wastewater Treatment System on this project page website. Submit your feedback by Wednesday, April 1.
The Missoula Health Board approved the variance for Holland Lake Lodge to use a holding tank until December 31, 2028, or when the Forest Service replaces the failed lagoon wastewater system, whichever comes first. They also approved the use chemical toilets as a backup, so guests and employees always have access to bathroom facilities. These approval do come with conditions.
