RSID 8468 Rowan Street Petition

The Missoula County Commissioners approved this item at their public meeting on April 25th, 2024.

Property owners near Rowan Street have petitioned the Missoula County Commissioners to create Rural Special Improvement District No. 8468 for the purpose of financing a portion of the costs of improvements to Rowan Street. These improvements include the design and engineering, as well as the construction, of paved roadways.

At their meeting on March 7th, 2024, the Commissioners declared it their intent to create the District and to issue Rural Special Improvement District bonds in the amount of $234,000. If the district is created, property owners within the district will be assessed an amount not to exceed $1,872 spread over approximately 10 years.

You can find the resolution declaring the Board of County Commissioners intent to create the district online at missoulaproperty.us or in the Clerk & Recorder's Office recorded at Book 1098 Page 109. The Resolution includes the properties included in the district, cost estimates of the work to be completed, and descriptions of the bonds to be issued.

Affected property owners have been mailed a notice of the Resolution and their right to protest the creation of the district. At their public meeting on April 25th, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the Sophie Moiese Room of the Missoula County Courthouse Annex, 200 W. Broadway, Missoula, the Commissioners will hear all protests against the creation of the district and then decide if the creation of the district should move forward.
