MUD's 19th Annual Sustainability Fair - Earth Day

The Water Quality District participated in the Earth Day Fair at the Missoula Urban Demonstration facility, engaging with the community to raise awareness about living in an area with a sole-source aquifer and educating them on the types of activities that could jeopardize our drinking water supply. Our AmeriCorps member operated an Aquifer Recharge Model which perfectly demonstrates how surface contamination can impact groundwater. We also handed out pet waste bags and informed the public of the damage not picking up pet waste can cause to our water sources.
