Project Description

Planning, Development and Sustainability staff are requesting lower fees for small-scale floodplain development projects. The lowered fees reflect the level of time and effort required for small-scale floodplain permit review without burdening local taxpayers.

Project Background

Missoula County charges applicants land use fees to cover the cost of reviewing new construction and development applications. Without these fees, local taxpayers would have to cover these costs.

Planning, Development and Sustainability (PDS) staff determined the need to lower small-scale floodplain development permits.

After reviewing current floodplain permit fees, staff identified a set of small-scale floodplain permits that could be lowered without putting pressure on other taxpayers.
