Project Description:
The Missoula County Community and Economic Development Department (CED) is requesting $150,000 of TIF funding from the Wye I and Wye II TEDDs to hire a professional consultant to evaluate and forecast fire protection needs for the Wye Targeted Economic Development Districts (Wye TEDD and Wye II TEDD). The consultant will prepare an assessment and make recommendations for facilities, equipment, staffing and capital improvements that will support the growth of development in the Wye TEDDs over the next 20 to 50 years.
Project Background:
The Missoula County Community and Economic Development Department is working with Missoula Rural Fire District (MRFD) and Frenchtown Rural Fire District (FRFD) to conduct a study on how fire protection needs can be supported with the growth of the Wye.
According to state law MCA 7-15-42888, TIF funding can be used to compile and analyze relevant information to determine the needs of a targeted economic development district.
