FAQs
Why is the County involved in this if it’s a Poverello Center project?
Missoula County is the only eligible applicant for CDBG funding, which is why the County applied on behalf of the Poverello Center. The County has applied for and been awarded the funding. To actually receive the funding, the County must complete the environmental assessment process, which requires public engagement.
How would your comments affect this project?
Though the County has already consulted multiple federal, state and local agencies about any impact they foresee and has not received any concerns about this project, you as a member of the public may have some comments of your own. The County will send any of those comments to the Montana Department of Commerce and HUD. The Department of Commerce and HUD then have to make a decision as to whether the comments and concerns warrant further investigation into environmental impacts before the funds can be released.
