Learn and engage with the county to help prepare and adapt our community for the impacts of climate change.
Whether it’s hotter, drier summers, longer wildfire seasons or milder winters, we’re already experiencing the impacts of climate change in Missoula County, and it’s time to prepare. In the spring of 2020, Missoula County, the City of Missoula and Climate Smart Missoula jointly adopted Climate Ready Missoula, a climate adaptation plan that identified goals and strategies to reduce Missoula’s vulnerability to climate change.

One impact experts project will get worse is summer heat, so this summer, the Missoula County Climate Action team is hosting an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Fellow to create an extreme heat preparedness toolkit for Missoula County. This toolkit’s goal is to highlight and address the community's concerns about hotter summers, hear how people deal with extreme heat and identify ways in which Missoula County can better support residents.
